On Thursday afternoon the 'Timmy Moloney Easter Camp" came to a close after 3 days packed full of coaching, fun and games provided for in excess of 110 boys and girls. This was our biggest camp in recent years. While the weather wasn't completely on our side it certainly didn't dampen spirits. Both Kids and Coaches utilised every inch of Leahy Park's pitches over the 3 days.

In keeping with club tradition, this year's camp was named in memory of an ex- member/player sadly gone to his eternal rest. This year's event was held in honour of the late Timmy Moloney. Timmy's contribution to the Cashel KC Club is immeasurable. As a player he was always a towering and inspirational figure. Later he turned to club coaching with great success. His uncanny way of getting things done at committee level and his trojan efforts behind club fundraisers, were all attributes that we all sadly miss.

It was fantastic to see so many members of Timmy's Family present on Thursday as several presentations and lovely words were exchanged. Easter eggs were handed out to every participant, a kind gesture from the Moloney Family, and one greatly appreciated by all the boys and girls.

We extend our great appreciation to club members, Kieran Kelly, David Kennedy, Sean O Duibhir Snr and to Peter Fitzelle for their trojan work over the three days. Also to caretaker Tommy for having the pitches in prime condition and Mark Fitzelle for the fantastic photos, superbly capturing the mood. We also would like to recognise the contribution to the event by CKC Camogie players Chloe, Brid, Mia, Millie, Katie and Ultan from the boys club who were on hand each day to help out. To Games Development Officer Denis O Mahoney, head coach Ellie Butler and each of the coaches we sincerely thank you for your expertise during the three days.

We would also like to acknowledge the presence of Juvenile chairperson Brendan Bonnar and Senior chairperson Sean O Donoghue for Thursdays closing ceremony. Both spoke some kind words on behalf of the King Cormac's Club to Josie, Elaine, Joey, Jack, Daniel, Ciara and the extended Moloney family in a lovely tribute to the memory of club legend Timmy Moloney.

Finally, it takes a lot of time, patience and planning behind the scenes, to ensure a successfully run camp. Once again, our club co-ordinator Eileen Moloney, delivered in spades. Eileen has overseen camps within our club for many years now and we are all very grateful to her for everything she continues to do. This year's camp was a poignant one for Eileen and the Moloney family in particular.  Eileen pulled out all the stops yet again, we thank you and appreciate all you have done and continue to do for CKC GAA and Camogie Clubs.
